WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
A clinical education you can't get in a classroom.
🦴
Clinical physiotherapy
Observe and assist across a wide range of musculoskeletal presentations — assessment, treatment, and progressive rehabilitation in a busy clinic that takes quality seriously.
🧘
Physio-led clinical Pilates
See how Pilates functions as a clinical rehabilitation tool. Understand how programs are designed around injury history and movement assessment — not just choreography.
💪
Strength & conditioning in rehab
Learn how progressive loading principles are integrated into physiotherapy — a skill set most clinics do not offer and most graduates leave university without.
🏃
Running assessment
The full biomechanical running assessment process including video gait analysis and how clinical findings translate into a management plan.
🤝
Multidisciplinary care
Understand how physiotherapy, exercise physiology, and sports dietetics work together for a patient — an integrated approach rarely seen in student placements.
💬
Clinical communication
How to explain a diagnosis clearly, set realistic expectations, and build therapeutic rapport — the soft skills that separate good clinicians from great ones.
WHERE YOU WILL BE LEARNING
A clinic built around doing things properly.
Strength & Pilates Physiotherapy has been in Surry Hills since 2016. We are a multidisciplinary allied health clinic with a full Pilates studio (three reformers, Cadillac, two chairs, ladder barrel, spine corrector) and a dedicated strength and conditioning zone (two squat racks, barbells, dumbbells, 500kg+ of plates).
Our team includes physiotherapists with backgrounds in elite rugby, NHS musculoskeletal practice, women's health, and high-performance sport. Our exercise physiologist holds dual physio and AEP qualifications with a Masters in Strength and Conditioning. Our sports dietitian is the current dietitian for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs NRL.
You will be working alongside people who are genuinely excellent at what they do and who take the responsibility of mentorship seriously.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We take internships seriously. We need you to as well.
We are selective because a great intern makes the entire clinic better. We are not looking for the highest GPA. We are looking for the person who genuinely wants to become an excellent clinician and will do the work to get there.
🔬
Clinical curiosity
You ask why, not just what. You want to understand the reasoning behind clinical decisions — the anatomy, the pathology, the logic — not just observe the outcome.
📚
Commitment to learning
You treat every patient interaction as a learning opportunity. You reflect on what you observed, ask questions, and put in the work outside clinic hours. Learning doesn't stop when the session ends.
🎯
A genuine interest in movement
Whether it's sport, strength training, Pilates, or running — you have a personal relationship with movement that shapes how you think about the body.
💡
Openness to honest feedback
You receive direct, constructive feedback without becoming defensive. You see correction as development and actively seek it out rather than waiting for praise.
🤝
Professionalism with patients
Patients are trusting this clinic with something important. You understand that responsibility and show up to every interaction with the respect and attention it deserves.
🚀
Initiative
You don't wait to be told what to do. You look for ways to contribute, make yourself useful, and bring energy to the environment. You are here to work, not just to observe.
THIS INTERNSHIP IS NOT RIGHT FOR YOU IF
One email. We read every one.
READY TO APPLY
We accept applications on a rolling basis. There is no intake cycle. If you are the right person, we will make it work.
We respond to every application personally. If you are not the right fit right now, we will tell you honestly and give you useful feedback. That is the same standard we hold ourselves to in the clinic.
1
Write a short cover letter
